A New Year means new preparations for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, honeymoons, and so on. At this point, many people are already used to celebrating their events in their own country. Do things differently this year: Have yours overseas.
Going overseas for your events adds a new twist to things and makes the whole experience more fun and memorable. Your significant other or kids will always remember the wedding or birthday party they had at the Villa Paradiso!
Traveling is often a significant expense that requires some serious planning. The last thing you want is to be stuck at home during your leave because you don’t have enough money to travel, or end your vacation earlier than planned because you ran out of money.
That’s why you need to set up a dedicated bank account just for travel. Some banks even allow you to rename the account, so you could give it some fancy name like “Jamaican holiday villa 2022” or “Ocho Rios travel 2022” that will encourage you to save more towards it.
You may also want to set your bank to send a part of your paycheck into the travel account before it hits your bank account. That way, you wouldn’t have the urge to spend the money.
As a tip, traveling in a group gives you access to better deals for just being part of a larger group, and you’d also be sharing the whole travel experience with people you like and trust. For example, did you know that a group of 12 or more can stay at the Villa Paradiso for less than $200 USD per night per person? This means you can save big, stay safe, and have some awesome conversations, photos, activities, and experiences.
Many travelers visit new countries without getting a feel of the local language. You should do things differently when visiting Jamaica.
Jamaicans speak English along with Jamaican Patois (which is also called Jamaican Creole).
It’s a blend of English with other languages like the Akan language of Ghana, Scot, and Irish-English and is easy to learn if you already know English. Just learn a few words that you can string together to speak with the locals. They’ll appreciate it.
For example, if you’re meeting up with a Jamaican friend, tell him “Mi Soon Come”, meaning you’re on your way. While “Weh yuh ah seh” sounds like and translates as “What are you saying”, it also means, “How are you doing?”.
At Villa Paradiso, we include a 21 passenger coach and driver for your exclusive use during your stay. That means you and the family can travel around town very easily and comfortably. You can visit all the shops, restaurants, cafes, and hang-out spots enjoyed by the locals and get a more authentic feel as to what it’s like to be a Jamaican.
After all said and done, the most important resolution of all is to make the trip! Planning for a trip and actually making that trip are two different things. Many people plan trips but only a few people end up traveling.
A trip only becomes one when it happens. Plan for it, and when you’re ready, make the move.
The first step to traveling is to reserve your accommodation. You can book early (some guests book months or years in advance!) so you have plenty of time to plan your trip.
